Sensory-Friendly Day on Friday, May 10

Attending Day Out With Thomas on Friday, May 10 is perfect for guests with autism spectrum disorders, learning disorders, high anxiety and dementia. There will be no train whistles, event soundtrack, or announcements. Safe spaces will be available for guests that need a sensory break. And, the Nightingale Accessible Railcar will make its Day Out With Thomas debut! The Nightingale has eight wheelchair spaces, and seating for eight accessible guests or companions. The wheelchair spaces have benches that can fold down from the wall for additional accessible or companion seating if required. There is an accessible staircase, wheelchair lift and tie-downs for the wheelchairs.

Important Train Ride Information

Saturdays and Sundays Train Ride Departure Times: 9:00 am, 9:40 am, 10:20 am, 11:00 am, 11:40 am, 12:20 pm, 1:00 pm, 1:40 pm, 2:20 pm, 3:00 pm, 3:40 pm and 4:20 pm
Friday Train Ride Departure Times: 9:00 am, 9:40 am, 10:20 am, 11:00 am, 11:40 am, 12:20 pm, 1:00 pm, 1:40 pm and 2:20 pm
The walk from the front gate to the boarding area at Midnapore Station is approximately 15 minutes. Please allow enough time to arrive at Midnapore Station 30 minutes before train departure.
Please arrive at least one hour before your train ride. If you have the 9 am train ride, please be ready at the front gates at 8:30 am and head directly to Midnapore Station.
Boarding will take place at Midnapore Station, which is the first station you will see after walking up the promenade.
All guests aged 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult (aged 18+) to ride the train. All guests aged 1 and up, including adults, must buy a Day Out With Thomas ticket to ride the train.
A shuttle bus will be available at the front gate to take guests to Midnapore Station. Guests in wheelchairs and with other mobility challenges will be prioritized. Strollers and wagons are not permitted on the bus for safety purposes. Day Out With Thomas will be busy, so please be patient while waiting for the bus!

Breakfast Buffet Information: Breakfast With Sir Topham Hatt is available as an add-on to Day Out With Thomas. Doors to the breakfast will open at 7:15 am. Food service is available from 7:30 – 9:30 am. Sir Topham Hatt will greet guests in 30 minute intervals throughout the breakfast, including 7:30 – 8 am, 8:30 – 9 am and 9:30 – 10 am.
Early Arrival and Departure Recommended for Guests with Train Ride Times: We recommend all guests arrive early, so they have enough time to eat, meet Sir Topham Hatt and arrive to Midnapore Station for their train ride on time. We recommend guests leave the breakfast at least 45 minutes before their train ride time. The walk from Gasoline Alley Museum to Midnapore Station is about 15 minutes long. Guests should arrive to Midnapore Station 30 minutes before their train ride time.
Breakfast Access: When you arrive, check-in at Heritage Park’s front gates. Then, enter the side door of Gasoline Alley Museum and take the stairs or elevator to the second floor for breakfast. Our friendly staff are happy to help you find your way!
Day Out With Thomas Access: After breakfast, guests will exit Gasoline Alley Museum into the Historical Village. Guests leaving the breakfast for their train ride should go directly to Midnapore Station. The walk from Gasoline Alley Museum to Midnapore Station is around 15 minutes. Please arrive at Midnapore Station 30 minutes before your train ride.
