Enjoy family-friendly entertainment, live music, activities and more in celebration of Alberta’s community, culture and heritage. Experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Alberta’s history, join in engaging activities and end the day with a spectacular live drone show in the Historical Village.     See how the Blue Sky City comes to life as you create your own piece of sunshine in this interactive sun-powered art technique called cyanotype printing facilitated by artist Leia Guo (she/her). Drop of Sunshine is designed for all ages and skill levels to take part and explore the playfulness and curiosity our sunny city encourages as part of Blue Sky Arts – a partnership with Tourism Calgary, RISE UP and Calgary Arts Development.

    • When you arrive, proceed to the front gates to enter the Historical Village and start your experience.

    How to Purchase

    • Ride bracelets are available for purchase online only.

    • If you haven’t purchased in advance, you can scan a QR code at the Guest Services Tent in Celebration Field to buy your bracelets on-site.

    • Limit of 4 bracelets per online transaction.

    • Your bracelet will get you unlimited Midway Rides for the day.

    • Canoo Tickets: Canoo tickets do not include Antique Midway Ride Bracelets or S.S. Moyie tickets. Canoo members must purchase these seperately.

    How to Redeem On-Site

    • Show your digital or printed proof of purchase at the Guest Services Tent in Celebration Field to receive your bracelet(s).

    How to Purchase

    • Tickets for S.S. Moyie sailings are available online only for timed departures. A ticket is only valid for its designated sailing time.
    • Limit of 4 tickets per online transaction.
    • Members: To reserve your complimentary ticket, contact Guest Services at 403.268.8500 before Alberta Day.
    • Canoo Tickets: Canoo tickets do not include Antique Midway Ride Bracelets or S.S. Moyie tickets. Canoo members must purchase these seperately.

    How to Redeem On-Site

    • All guests should arrive at the S.S. Moyie dock behind Shepard Station at least 20 minutes before their scheduled departure time. It takes approximately 20–25 minutes to walk from the front entrance to the Moyie dock.
    • If you haven’t purchased in advance, you may scan a QR code on-site to purchase tickets for a remaining sailing time if they are available.
    • A small number of tickets may be held for Members without advance reservations — subject to availability.

    What to Expect at the Dock

    • If you’re on time: You’ll be directed to line up for boarding.
    • If you’re too early: A volunteer will let you know when to return for your sailing.
    • If you missed your departure: You may wait for the next sailing, if space allows, but boarding is not guaranteed.

  • Getting To & From Heritage Park on Alberta Day: FREE Shuttle Bus

    Parking is very limited on Alberta Day, we strongly recommend taking transit to get here. There are several convenient transit options to get to Heritage Park on Alberta Day, including a free shuttle service and free parking at Anderson Station.

    • Free Shuttle and Parking at Anderson Station: A free shuttle will run between Anderson Station and Heritage Park throughout the day, with buses arriving every 10 minutes. Free parking is also available at Anderson Station. See below for the full schedule.
    • MAX Teal and MAX Yellow: Guests can also take the MAX Teal and MAX Yellow rapid transit lines to Heritage Park.
    • Calgary Transit – Route 502: Take Route 502 from the Heritage LRT Station directly to Heritage Park. Please note: CTrain service between Victoria Park and Heritage stations will be replaced by a shuttle on Aug. 31. Learn more.
    • Calgary Transit – Route 20: Route 20 will also provide service to Heritage Park on Alberta Day. Please note: CTrain service between Victoria Park and Heritage stations will be replaced by a shuttle on Aug. 31. Learn more.

  • Lost Kids Zone

    On Alberta Day, guest safety is our top priority. Our Lost Kids Zone offers proactive resources to ensure your child is found quickly if they become lost, and provides a safe space for parents and children to reconnect if separated.

    How it Works

    When You Arrive at the Park

    • Come to the Lost Kids Zone, located at the Guest Services tent in Celebration Field, and pick up a free wristband for your child.
    • Write your contact information, such as a phone number, on the wristband and place it on your child.
    • Take a quick photo of your child that morning. Having an up-to-date picture makes it much easier for our team to assist in an emergency.

    If You Get Separated

    • Head directly to the Lost Kids Zone at the Guest Services tent in Celebration Field.
    • Our staff will use the contact information on your child’s wristband to reunite you with your child quickly and safely.
  • Plan Ahead

    • Expect Larger Crowds & Longer Lines on Alberta Day. Plan to arrive 60 minutes early to minimize delays.
    • Live Updates: Follow our social media channels for real-time updates and special announcements.
    • Come Prepared: Bring a low-rise festival chair, water bottle, picnic blanket, sunscreen, and money for concessions, Midway Bracelets, or Moyie Tickets. If you pre-purchased Midway Bracelets, don’t forget your proof of purchase to redeem them on-site.
    • Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides: Please note, horse-drawn wagon rides will not be available on Alberta Day.
  • Antique Midway Height Restrictions

    • Baby Ferris Wheel: Riders must be 36 inches to 48 inches tall
    • Bowness Carousel: Riders under 42 inches tall must ride on the inside horses on the carousel. Adults must hold infants who go on the carousel.
    • The Whip: Riders must be taller than 32 inches. Riders who are 32 – 48 inches tall must be accompanied by a rider taller than 48 inches.
    • The Caterpillar: Riders must be taller than 32 inches. Riders who are 32 – 48 inches tall must be accompanied by a rider taller than 48 inches.
    • The Dangler Swings: Riders must be 42 inches or taller.
    • Big Eli Ferris Wheel: Riders must be at least 36 inches tall. Riders who are between 36 – 48 inches tall must be accompanied by someone taller than 48 inches.
  • Steam Train - Included in Admission and Supported by YYC Airport Authority

    Steam Train, Supported by YYC Airport Authority: Rides aboard the Steam Train are included with your admission. The train will operate from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. All train rides will depart from and return to Shepard Station. All guests will disembark from the Steam Train at Shepard Station at the end of each trip.

  • Canoo Tickets

    Canoo tickets do not include Midway Ride Bracelets or S.S. Moyie tickets. Canoo members must purchase these separately.
