Culturally Speaking: Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump Presents – The Expressway Into The Drop Zone

Event Description

For thousands of years, the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksikaitsitapi) skillfully hunted Iinii (Buffalo) using sustainable methods like buffalo jumps, which shaped their culture, traditions, and survival. Join Lowell Yellowhorn, Head of Education and Interpretation at Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump, to learn how the Blackfoot Confederacy’s (Siksikaitsitapi) deep knowledge of the land, spiritual ceremonies, and communal practices ensured a respectful balance between nature and their way of life, leaving a lasting legacy of resilience and wisdom.
