Promised Lands: The Legacy of the Baroness and Baron de Hirsch (Brazil, 2024)

Jewish farmers who homesteaded in the Montefiore Colony in eastern Alberta were supported by 19th-century philanthropists Baron and Baroness de Hirsch. Through the Jewish Colonization Association, they provided similar assistance at the same time to Jewish farming communities in Brazil.

With a special virtual guest from São Paulo, Brazil, Sergio Lerrer, journalist, documentary team member and Secretary of the Brazilian Jewish Tourism Center.

Documentary. Brazil, 2024. Portuguese with English subtitles. 70 minutes.
