Hit the road and discover 100 years of Alberta travel stories with AMA

Be among the first to experience this once-in-a-hundred-year exhibition as it makes its debut at Heritage Park from June 27 to September 7, 2026. A Road Well Travelled is a brand-new interactive experience celebrating 100 years of the Alberta Motor Association (AMA).

Buckle up for a journey through a century of stories, roadside milestones and surprising moments from Alberta’s past. Take the scenic route through AMA’s first 100 years as interactive displays, fascinating artifacts and surprising discoveries bring Alberta’s past to life.

From unforgettable road trips and iconic roadside landmarks to the moments that connected communities across the province, every corner of the exhibition reveals a new chapter in Alberta’s story. Along the way, visitors will uncover hidden gems, discover what’s around the next bend and explore the journeys that helped shape life in Alberta.

Whether reliving favourite travel memories or charting a new course through history, guests of all ages will find plenty to discover along the way.

Know Before You Go

  • Where is the exhibition located?

    A Road Well Travelled is located inside Gasoline Alley Museum at Heritage Park Historical Village. 

  • Does admission to the AMA Exhibition also include access to the Historical Village?  

    Yes. A Road Well Travelled is included with Heritage Park admission and memberships, which also provide access to Gasoline Alley Museum, the Historical Village and seasonal rides and attractions operating during the day. 

  • Are strollers permitted inside the exhibit? 

    Strollers are not permitted inside the exhibit. We recommend leaving them outside the exhibition hall. Note: Heritage Park is not responsible for any belongings or strollers left unattended. 

  • What ages is the exhibition best suited for?   

    The exhibition is designed for all ages, from curious young explorers to lifelong road trip enthusiasts and history lovers. 

  • Is the exhibition accessible?  

    Yes. Gasoline Alley Museum is wheelchair accessible and welcomes guests of all abilities.
