Get ready to party all year long with Heritage Park’s newest exhibition, Kids Celebrate!

This thrilling exhibition, created by the Canadian Museum of History, invites kids (and grown-ups too) to explore how different cultures celebrate all around the world. From birthday candles and fireworks to family feasts and festivals of light, discover how Canadian families mark special moments across cultures and seasons.

Things to do Calgary at Heritage Park Historical Village

Kids Celebrate! was designed for children ages 5-12 and is filled with interactive fun to keep them busy during the winter months. Take a peek of what they can experience:

  • Play games, solves puzzles, make crafts and join parades
  • Get immerse in colourful zones that bring the four seasons to life
  • Learn about 12 celebrations, including Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, Toonik Tyme, Canada Day, Caribbean Carnival, Eid-ul-Fitr, Diwali, Thanksgiving, Halloween and more!
  • Check out different artifacts, props, videos, plus take-home activities that let the joy of celebrating continue after you visit

More than just fun, Kids Celebrate! is about belonging, sharing and connecting with others. It’s a chance for kids to discover new traditions, recognize ones they already know, and see how celebrations bring people together across Canada.

Kids Celebrate! is a travelling exhibition produced by  the Canadian Museum of History.

Alongside the Kids Celebrate! exhibition, Heritage Park is excited to partner with local cultural groups and communities to celebrate Calgary’s diverse stories and traditions through music, crafts, demonstrations, storytelling and more.

    Guest Stars Celebrate – Casa Mexico Presents: Dia Del Nino

    Location: Railway Orientation Centre, Front Plaza.

    Día del Niño – A Children’s Festival is a vibrant, family-centered cultural celebration dedicated to honoring children, creativity, and community. The event will transform the Entrance Plaza into a dynamic outdoor festival space featuring live performances, interactive activities, and multicultural experiences.

    • Continuous live stage performances (dance, music, interactive entertainment)
    • Opening ceremony with community leaders
    • Hands-on arts and crafts workshops

    Guest Stars Celebrate: Passover

    Chag Pesach Sameach, as we like to say or, Happy Passover! This year Passover starts on the evening of Wednesday, April 1 and ends at sundown on Thursday, April 9. To learn about the Exodus story and Passover, one of the most important holidays in Judaism, join us for a fun day of story-time, songs, activities and crafts.

    Rabbi Cohen tells the Passover story and sings 11:00 am and 1:30 pm
    Find the Afikoman 11:30 am and 2:00 pm
    Story-time 12:30 pm and 3:00 pm
    Colouring and Crafts All day
