Calgary, Alta. – Today, Heritage Park Historical Village has announced that President and CEO Lindsey Galloway will retire from his role on November 18, 2026, following a significant chapter of leadership and growth for the organization.
“Leading Heritage Park has been one of the great privileges of my career,” says Galloway. “We’ve strengthened the organization, built an exceptional team and positioned Heritage Park for an exciting next chapter.”
“While Lindsey’s retirement marks an important leadership transition, Heritage Park’s vision for the future remains very focused,” says Mike Lindsay, Chair of the Park’s Board of Trustees. “Over the past several years, the Park has put in place a strong leadership team, clear strategic direction and defined long-term priorities, that will enable the organization to continue building. We are grateful to Lindsey for his leadership and the important contribution he has made to Heritage Park”
Heritage Park is Canada’s most visited living history museum, one of Alberta’s top cultural attractions, a beloved destination for local families, and Calgary’s top rated tourist attraction. The Park welcomes more than 650,000 visitors annually. Since 1964, the 127-acre Park has connected people to the stories and experiences that have shaped the Canadian Prairies.
The recruitment process for Heritage Park’s next CEO is underway, and Galloway will remain engaged to support an orderly leadership transition.
“There is tremendous opportunity ahead. I look forward to helping ensure a smooth transition through the remainder of my time as CEO and to watching this remarkable organization continue to grow and evolve,” said Galloway. “Heritage Park helps build understanding of our past at a time of great uncertainty when that perspective is vitally important to understanding the present and shaping the future.”
