Calgary – Heritage Park is proud to announce Innovation Crossing is the winner of two awards of merit at the Consulting Engineers of Alberta Showcase Awards Gala earlier this month.
The building, designed by Calgary-based ACE Architecture and RJC Engineers, received awards of merit in the Building Engineering: Institutional and Sustainable Design categories. 41 projects were submitted from a cross section of Alberta’s consulting engineering firms for this year’s awards.
“We’ve always known Innovation Crossing to be a special building,” says Bob Wyatt, Director of Facilities and Maintenance at Heritage Park. “This recognition really puts a stamp on that understanding. We want to congratulate the RJC group for the amazing engineering work they did in partnership with us and ACE Architecture. We invite our guests to come and see this truly remarkable building for themselves this summer at Heritage Park.”
RJC provided the structural engineering for Innovation Crossing, featuring an exposed mass timber structural system designed to blend seamlessly with the existing historical vernacular of the park and incorporate green technologies.
At Heritage Park, Innovation Crossing provides programming showcasing how renewable resources are being used today and into the future. The facility is ultra-efficient, incorporating numerous sustainable technologies that also function as exhibits to show renewable energy in action.
