Duties & Responsibilities
- Work on specified projects as assigned such as maintenance (laundry), sewing repairs, sewing clothing from verbal and written instructions, and hand sewing;
- Maintain catalogue records including assigning and returning costumes;
- Process, track, and launder summer camp costumes;
- Complete a capstone project such as 1920s dress or duster coat.
Job Requirements
- Work with staff and volunteers in a polite and professional manner;
- Available weekends and some evenings as required;
- Respond to timely requests for repairs and replacement items throughout the summer season;
- Computer, analytical and organizational skills are essential. Knowledge of FileMaker Pro an asset.
Education and Experience
- Candidate should be enrolled in or have completed a post-secondary program in costuming, theatre, or a related field;
- Comparable experience will be considered.
Working Conditions
- The job may require some lifting, climbing safety ladders, working with industrial sewing machines and steam irons;
- Will be required to alone and with others;
- Safety equipment and a costume may be issued; these must be worn when appropriate to the task being performed.
