The Springtime Express Arrives at Heritage Park

Calgary, AB— Get ready to hear the whistle blow and feel the excitement build. This spring, guests can climb aboard the Springtime Express at Heritage Park, a lively rail adventure designed to delight kids, captivate adults and bring generations together for a shared journey through history. 

For a limited time, visitors can explore the Historical Village entirely by train aboard Heritage Park’s newly acquired 1951 diesel-electric locomotive, the first new engine added to the collection in nearly 50 years. From the moment the train pulls out of the station, the experience blends rolling scenery, playful storytelling and theatrical moments that invite guests of all ages to settle in, look out the window and enjoy the ride together. 

During the 105-minute journey, guests travel through the Village before making a scheduled stop at the historic Wainwright Hotel. There, fun and exciting performances create a warm, energetic atmosphere that feels welcoming with just the right touch of history. Guests then hop back on board to continue their rail adventure through time.

For guests seeking an elevated experience, the Premium Cab Experience offers a rare opportunity to ride inside the locomotive cab alongside the engineer. With only two seats available per departure, this exclusive upgrade provides an unforgettable front-row perspective at the very heart of the train. 

The Springtime Express runs every Sunday in March with four departures daily. Capacity is limited and advance booking is required. Annual Pass holders and Heritage Club Members receive 15 percent off tickets.
