We have reached capacity for Alberta Day at Heritage Park. For our guest’s experience and for the safety of everyone on the Park, we have to put a limit on the amount of people we can allow to access the Park at the same time. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.
Hold onto your hats because on Alberta Day, we’re cranking up the fun – Admission to the Park is FREE! It will be an amazing celebration that’s all about the province’s unique spirit, culture and heritage. With live entertainment, kid-friendly activities and a tasty spread featuring Canadian and international cuisine, this is a bash you won’t want to miss. And of course, you can still enjoy all your Park favourites as you experience the sights, sounds and smells of living history across 127 acres. Make sure you stick around to the end for the unique opportunity to see a live drone show in the Historical Village. Because guest experience is our priority, we’ll be selling wristbands that will allow you access to Antique Midway and S.S. Moyie rides, so we can continue to provide you with a great experience. Wristbands are purchased separately from admission. Antique Midway ride bracelets can be purchased and picked up on-Park on Sept. 2. at Town Hall, the S.S. Moyie ticket booth or at the customer services tent near Celebration Tent. S.S. Moyie ride bracelets will be available on-Park on Sept. 2 at the S.S. For the 150th anniversary of Canadian Confederation, the Provincial Archives of Alberta created a special sculptural exhibit that will be on display in Gasoline Alley Museum on Sept. 2! Discover how Alberta innovated and led the country in environmental protection, performing arts, developing national parks, entrepreneurship, Indigenous relations, women’s rights and other aspects of society.

Join Jason Plain Eagle of the Piikani Nation as he demonstrates the ways in which life skills were passed from one generation to another as you try your hand at some traditional games.
Take part in some traditional hand games as taught by Sheldon First Rider of the Kainai Nation.
Visit with Bruce Starlight of the Tsuut’ina Nation as he demonstrates traditional hide tanning techniques.

The Travelling Mabels are an award-winning folk/country group from southern Alberta. For more than fifteen years, they have brought their own unique brand of harmony, humour and musicianship to audiences from coast to coast, performing at venues ranging from folk clubs and community halls to big festivals.

Flint & Feather (Joal and Lauren Kamps) are a free-spirited husband and wife duo who are passionate about cultivating community through folk/roots music, storytelling, and laughter. Drawing upon Western Canadian history, Rocky Mountain folklore, and their own colourful life journeys for inspiration, the Kamps create original ‘Rocky Mountain Folk-Pop’ songs that tell stories with an uncommon charm.

The Heebee-jeebees are a 4-man Canadian comic a cappella quartet formed in 1993 who have over the past 29 and 3/4 years sung thousands of performances and appeared on local, national and international radio, television and print. The group has a reputation for being hilarious, entertaining and extremely talented.

Enjoy a performance from Kala Bhavan of Calgary, one of the city’s original Indian classical dance schools. Led by expert artistic director, Roma Thakore and pro-level choreographers, Kala Bhavan is Calgary’s premiere Indian dance school teaching Bharatnatyam, fusion and traditional folk dances of India.

Come watch a performance from Tryzub Ukrainian Dance Ensemble, a dance school whose mission is to provide the best Ukrainian dance instruction available in Calgary, foster an atmosphere of learning, facilitate the technical training of its students, encourage an appreciation for Ukrainian dance and prepare our youth to become the Ensemble of tomorrow.

In 2001 John Wort Hannam quit his teaching job and spent 10 months depleting his savings while sat at his kitchen table, wearing a lucky hat, writing his first ten songs. Those songs would become his first recording Pocket Full Of Holes, released in 2003.
Seventeen years later, the Alberta musician is releasing his seventh full-length recording Acres Of Elbow Room and has a few feathers in that lucky hat for his first six offerings. Feathers that include a JUNO nomination, a Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Album of the Year, a CBC Galaxie Rising Star Award, a Kerrville Texas New Folk win, and numerous Western Canadian Music Award and Canadian Folk Music Award nominations.

Mocking Shadows has been entertaining crowds across Canada for over 13 years with their own brand of soul, reggae, blues and R&B. Drawing from their “old school” roots the shadows have developed and incorporated a contemporary sound that has attracted a younger demographic while still maintaining their original “old school” fan base. The ability of the band to appeal to such a wide demographic has made them one of Western Canada’s more popular festival, corporate and special event bands.

Nice Horse is wild: wildly talented, wildly entertaining, fun, fresh, fierce and feisty, and they’ve established themselves as one of the most buzzed-about and fast-rising groups in the Canadian music industry. A live act to be reckoned with, the self-contained all-female group has played high-profile festivals across Canada including Boots & Hearts, Big Valley Jamboree, and the Calgary Stampede, and has performed in Spain and France. They have also toured as direct support for legendary artists such as Tom Cochrane and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band.
The band, made up of Katie Rox (vocals / banjo / acoustic guitar), Brandi Sidoryk (vocals / bass), Tara McLeod (vocals / electric guitar), and Krista Wodelet (vocals / drums), has garnered significant accolades since forming in 2015, including ten Canadian Country Music Award (CCMA) nominations, eight Country Music Alberta Awards, and the 2021 and 2022 Western Canadian Music Award for Country Artist of the Year.
