Get Ready for the Best. Year. Ever.

We’re so excited for our 60th anniversary! The Historical Village opens a day early for the first time in 60 years on Friday, May 17. From the cool breeze of the S.S. Moyie to the roar of our steam train, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Once we open, we have lots planned to celebrate 60 years of family fun. Admire hundreds of colourful quilts on display at Festival of Quilts, discover the weird history of the Park on our NEW Curiosities and Oddities tour, celebrate your little ones at our NEW Children’s Festival and more.

Alberta Bakery Goodies in the Railway Café

You don’t need to wait for the Historical Village to be open to get your fix of your favourite sweets and treats from the Alberta Bakery. Journey Through Lightbulb History

Staying for an extended time!

Come see Heritage Park “shine a light” on the history of the Lightbulb with our temporary exhibit, “For Those Who Have Seen the Invention Pronounce it Wonderful: A Modernist View of the History of Light”. Created by Peter Tertzakian, this exhibit tells visitors about the history of the lightbulb, the various styles, its evolution and the beginning of electricity. With 14 different types of lightbulbs on display, we know this will be an illuminating experience!
