Get ready, detectives! By popular demand, we’ve got a fresh mystery for you to solve! It’s 1910 and the Alberta Central Railway is building a railroad across the middle of the province. Whoever guesses where the rail line is going will strike it rich if they get in early. Day Out With Thomas

‘Pop’ on board a train ride adventure with Thomas the Tank Engine! Day Out With Thomas: Bubble Tour is rolling into the station on May 4 – 5 and 10 – 12, 2024, with loads of bubble-themed games and activities! That Special Place We Call Heritage Park: 60 Years in the Community

Heritage Park invites you to step into a time capsule of community history. Delve into “That Special Place We Call Heritage Park: 60 Years in the Community,” a new temporary exhibit and nostalgic tribute spanning the 60 years of the Park’s existence. The exhibit was curated here at the Park, using the memories from our community of employees and volunteers, artifacts from our collection, visuals of the Park through the years and one-of-a-kind items you won’t find anywhere else. Join us in commemorating this milestone and embracing our shared heritage.
Hood’s Up!
Tuesday to Sunday from Jan. 30 – April 28
For the first time ever and for a limited time only, we’re pulling back the hoods to reveal the engines of our vintage vehicles in Gasoline Alley Museum!
Different cars will be featured each week – explore the museum and talk with costumed interpreters to discover the stories behind the engines. And, you won’t want to miss the Spring Thaw Car Show in April when nearly all of the hoods are up at once! You won’t get a chance to see Gasoline Alley Museum like this again – get tickets today!
Dinner and a Movie

Spring Ghost Tours

The normally live and bustling Historical Village becomes eerily quiet and deserted after dark. Enter the gates, if you dare, for a ghost tour through the Park’s darkened streets to discover the ghostly stories that lie within the rich history of its century-old buildings.
Spring Thaw Car Show

Race over to Heritage Park and join us for the Nifty Fifty Spring Thaw Car Show! Come explore the over 400 vehicles expected to be in show, including hot rods, classics, custom builds, antiques and more! After your done, head into Gasoline Alley Museum and discover one of the world’s largest collections of vintage vehicles – for the first time ever, almost all the cars in the museum will have their Hood’s Up! Rev up your engines and join us for Spring Thaw!
Heritage Park Tells Calgary’s Story

In celebration of our 60th birthday, local historian and interpreter Doug Coats reveals the local stories told by Heritage Park’s exhibits and artifacts. If you know where to look, you’ll find Heritage Park to be an amazing repository of the city’s history. Let’s peek through a Calgary lens and see how Heritage Park tells Calgary’s story.
Alberta Bakery Goodies in the Railway Café
You don’t need to wait for the Historical Village to be open to get your fix of your favourite sweets and treats from the Alberta Bakery. Cinnamon Buns, Cheese buns and everyone’s favourite Butter Tarts are available at the Railway Café year-round. Pop by daily from 10-4, grab a coffee and a snack in our cozy atmosphere.

Journey Through Lightbulb History
Staying for an extended time!
Come see Heritage Park “shine a light” on the history of the Lightbulb with our temporary exhibit, “For Those Who Have Seen the Invention Pronounce it Wonderful: A Modernist View of the History of Light”. Created by Peter Tertzakian, this exhibit tells visitors about the history of the lightbulb, the various styles, its evolution and the beginning of electricity. With 14 different types of lightbulbs on display, we know this will be an illuminating experience!
