These fees will not apply to those who hold a valid Membership. Members will receive complimentary parking 24 hours a day, year-round. Annual Members who have parking  and Heritage Club members will receive information on how to register their license plate(s) with Heritage Park.

90 Minute Complimentary Parking

For those visiting Gasoline Alley Museum, the Railway Café, the Selkirk or the shops in the Haskayne Mercantile Block, complimentary parking is available for up to 90 minutes (registration at pay machine required). We would like to encourage our guests to participate in alternative transportation such as car pooling or taking public transit.

Heritage Park Annual Members & Heritage Club Members

Annual Members who have parking and Heritage Club Members are entitled to complimentary parking at Heritage Park, 24 hours a day, year-round.

For New Members:

Step 1: Visit Heritage Park in person to activate your Membership if you have a Annual Membership with parking added on, or a Heritage Club Membership*. You will then receive your membership number, which is required to register for parking.

Step 2: If you have never previously registered your license plate(s) for complimentary parking at Heritage Park, click here for instructions on how to set up Calgary Parking Authority account.

*Note: You do not have to pay for parking when you first visit the Park to receive your membership number. Simply complete your online registration by 11:59 p.m. on the day of your initial visit to avoid a parking penalty.

For Existing Members:

If you registered your license plate(s) using the old myID system, you will need to claim your account on our new Online Parking Permit system. Please click here for instructions. If you are having trouble with the online system, make sure you are using a laptop or desktop computer and accessing the site with Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Mobile browsers on phones and tablets can cause error messages.

Note: If your membership number does not start with “MC”, you must get a new card from the Park. This number is on the back of the card under the barcode.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How much is parking?

    Daytime: $13 for the first 7 hours, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

    Evening: $8 flat rate (6 p.m. – 6 a.m.); vehicles must be removed by 9 am.

    Short term: A 90 minute grace period will allow visitors ample time to shop or dine in Heritage Plaza. You will still be required to enter your license plate into the ParkPlus machine, but will not be required to pay.

  • How do I pay?

    Once you arrive at Heritage Park Historical Village, look for one of the ParkPlus pay machines
    located along the promenade and near the front admission gate or pay by cell phone with your
    existing ParkPlus cell phone account or the MyParking app for iPhone or Android. You can also pay
    through the Virtual Pay Machine at vpm.parkplus.ca. Our parking lots are monitored by ParkPlus.
    Any vehicles not registered will be ticketed.

  • What is the Park Plus zone number for the parking lots?

    The Park Plus zone number for all Heritage Park parking lots is 8320.

  • Can vehicles be left overnight?

    Yes, we encourage our visitors attending evening functions to make responsible
    choices and not drink and drive. If you need to leave your car in our parking lots overnight you
    may do so. Parking is $8 from 6 pm until 6:00am the following morning. You have until 9:00am
    to remove your vehicle. If you do not remove your vehicle by 9:00am the following morning you
    will be ticketed.

    Please note that vehicles may not be left inside the Historical Village overnight.

  • Do fee assistance users get free parking?

    No. Fee assistance visitors are required to pay for parking.

  • Is there a monthly parking rate?

    No, not at this time

  • Why do I have to pay for parking?

    As a registered charity responsible for connecting people with the settlement of Western Canada, we are challenged with the ongoing and ever-growing preservation and upkeep of the park’s 127 acres and over 180 exhibits. The costs to operate and maintain Heritage Park increase each year. Proceeds collected from the parking fee will help ensure Heritage Park continues to educate, entertain and preserve history for generations to come.

  • How do I dispute a ticket?

    Parking at Heritage Park is managed by Calgary Parking Authority through ParkPlus. You will
    need to contact Calgary Parking Authority directly if you would like to dispute a ticket. Visit
    https://www.calgaryparking.com/parkingtickets/appeal to appeal a ticket online or phone 403-
    537-7100 for questions.

  • Do I have to pay to park if I’m driving into and attending an event inside the Historical Village?

    No, not at this time.

  • Do school buses and tour buses have to pay?

    No, not at this time.

  • Can I pay to park at Heritage Park and use the pathway or go to the hospital?

    Heritage Park’s parking lots are a private paid lot. They are designed for the use of Heritage Park guests only, but anyone can pay to park in these lots. Those who do not pay will be ticketed by Calgary Parking Authority.

  • Do Annual Members and Heritage Club Members get unlimited 24/7 parking?

    Annual Members, Escape and Heritage Club Members

    60th Anniversary Annual Members who’ve added parking onto their membership, 2025 Members, Escape members and Heritage Club members receive complimentary parking 24 hours a day, year-round. License plates must be registered online to obtain free parking.

  • How many license plates can Annual Members and Heritage Club Members register?

    60th Anniversary Members who’ve added parking onto their membership, 2025 Annual Members, Escape Members and Heritage Club members can register two license plates per adult – but only one registered license plate per adult/senior membership number is eligible for complimentary parking at any one time.

  • Can a Child Pass holder qualify for free parking?

    No. Complimentary parking is only applicable to General, Family, Companion and Senior members.

  • Do Annual Membership holders qualify for free parking?

    Only 60th Anniversary Annual Membership holders who have added parking onto their membership, 2025 Annual Members, Escape Members and Heritage Club Members qualify for free parking. It is the pass holder’s responsibility to set up and manage parking for their guests with ParkPlus.
