Celebrate Heritage Day with some exciting cultural performances

Join us for a FREE Heritage Day celebration in Heritage Town Square on Monday, August 3, featuring live cultural performances, inspiring speakers, and family-friendly entertainment that celebrates Alberta’s rich history, diverse cultures, and multicultural roots.
Whether you’re enjoying traditional music, vibrant dance performances, or fascinating stories from our past, there’s something for everyone to discover.

While Heritage Town Square festivities are free to attend, there’s even more to experience inside the Historical Village with Park admission.

Historic Calgary Week Presentation

Join Calgary artist Rik Barry for a fascinating talk on preserving Southern Alberta’s visual history through miniature recreations of vintage signs.

  • Time: 11:00 a.m.

Through My Family’s Eyes

Explore Calgary’s history through the story of author and speaker Ken Hooper‘s family, from their immigration to Canada to their connection with the Kensington neighbourhood and the Rocky Mountains. The presentation will be preceded by remarks from Courtney Walcott highlighting the significance of Emancipation Day and the importance of remembering Canada’s diverse histories.

Mexican Folkloric Performance

Don’t miss this lively and engaging performance by the Viva La Danza Mexican Folklore Ensemble.

Dancing in the Greek Style

Discover Greek culture and tradition as expressed by the renowned performers of the Dionysos Hellenic Cultural Society.
