Heritage Day Activities

Heritage Park Remembers

Join us in celebration of Heritage Park’s 60th anniversary year. We’ve put together a panel of long-time friends including staff, volunteers and a frequent visitor or two. Enjoy their stories and reminiscences as they reflect on sixty years of Heritage Park memories.

Time: 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Location: Railway Orientation Centre

Bollywood Dance Performance

Enjoy a Bollywood dance performance presented by the team of Sparq Productions, choreographed by award- winning international choreographers Tania Lemos Malpuria and Vishal Malpuria. Then, get set for an absolutely fun, vibrant and energetic interactive with Vishal Malpuria!

Time: 1:30 – 2:15 p.m.

Location: Heritage Plaza

Traditional Chinese Music and Dance

Witness a lively and energetic performance by the Calgary Lion Dance Association combined with traditional and contemporary Chinese music presented by some of Calgary’s best musicians.

Time: 2:30 – 3:30 p.m.

Location: Heritage Plaza

Métis Fiddling and Jigging

Drop by and take part in a session of traditional Métis fiddling and jigging with the Denby Family. You may even learn to a step or two of the Red River Jig.

Time: 4 – 4:45 p.m.

Location: Heritage Plaza

Traditional Indigenous Drumming, Song and Dance

Take in a performance by Watâga Dance Troup, a group of traditional Indigenous performers who present stories, songs and dances from many nations. This entertaining and engaging show is a must see.

Time: 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Location: First Nations Encampment

Heritage Day Tea

Join us for a delightful Heritage Day Tea to celebrate our rich cultural heritage together! Come and enjoy your freshly brewed cup of tea complemented by gourmet finger sandwiches and delicious pastries from the Alberta Bakery!

Time: 11:30 am – 3:30 pm

Important Additional Information

  • Parking: Paid parking is available in Heritage Park’s front lots. Members who’ve bought the parking add-on park for free! The Park Plus Zone number of the front lots is 8320. The daytime rate is $10 for the first 7 hours, and 10$ per hour thereafter to a maximum of $30. Click here for more information.
  • Event Access: Once guests have arrived to the Park, they can go to the front gates of the Historical Village to get admission and enter the Historical Village.
  • Getting to Heritage Park: There are plenty of ways to get to the Park, whether that be on foot, via transit, or driving. Click here to find the way that works for you!
