About the Prince House Gazebo

Gazebos, used for social events or simple relaxation, were not popular in the gardens of early North American settlements. The pioneers simply didn’t have enough money or spare time to spend on a gazebo.

However, once a family acquired enough wealth to give them some leisure time, they would build a gazebo as a visible status symbol for their garden. This gazebo was built in 1969, and rebuilt in 1992, at the end of a garden path on the west lawn of the Prince House, and is meant to enhance the Prince House’s image of wealth and luxury.
