Across the Sea of Grass

Take your class on a journey across Canada to a new home on the "sea of grass."

About the Program

For Grade 2, Grade 3 and Grade 4

Take your class on a journey across Canada to a new home on the “sea of grass.” From the driving of the last spike to the crowded, jostling colonist cars, discover the role the railroad played in settling the “Last, Best West.” Explore the settler’s life by visiting a “soddie,” and the Burnside Ranch House. Students will taste the farming life by learning how to churn butter and sampling the results!
