About the Program
Too hot? Too cold? Temperature regulation has been a challenge throughout history. Students will take a hands-on journey from the tipi, the soddy, log cabins and the first milled lumber buildings to our state-of-the-art smart building, Innovation Crossing. Recording their findings and observations, students will have a unique opportunity to explore how heat energy was managed in early Alberta. Further data will be collected in Innovation Crossing, whose “brain” decides what sustainable energy source to use. Considering sources, resource impacts, and sustainability, students will consider questions about the nature of heat – through the past, present, and future.
