Turntable Demonstration

This is your once-a-year chance to watch our authentic 1907 turntable swing the steam locomotive around. It’s a captivating glimpse into railway history, so don’t miss it!

Speeder Demonstrations

Spot the Fairmont Railway Car on Heritage Park’s tracks. Learn the fascinating history behind this speedy maintenance vehicle from our knowledgeable railway experts.

  • Where: The Railway Tracks

Diesel Train

Water Tower Demonstration

Watch and learn as our train crew replenishes our steam locomotive’s water supply, a crucial task during the age of steam.

Double-Header Steam Engine  

Witness both of Heritage Park’s Steam engines at the head of a rare double-header train!  

  • Where: All across the Park

Hand-Car Rides 

Whizz down a stretch of track on our historic handcar! Our docent will teach you how to manually operate this railway maintenance vehicle. 

  • Where: Near the Railway Car Shop
  • Please note: For safety, guests under the age of five are only allowed on the handcar for photos.

Hobo Camp

Visit the Hobos along the train line and discover their unique way of life. Learn a secret language and search for hidden symbols across the Park  

  • When: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Kid’s Railway Challenge

Calling all young railfans! Explore fun, educational train-themed activities throughout the Park. Complete them all for a chance to win exciting prizes!

  • Where: Hobo Camp & all across the Park

Telegraphy Demonstrations

Come and see how telegraph operators passed orders without stopping the train. Visit Midnapore Station, Laggan Station or Shepard Station to see a live telegraph in action, and even send your own telegram!

Railway historians come together to provide informative talks and free panels throughout the day

Model Train Displays

Model train clubs from near and far bring their best displays to Railway Days!

    Paid parking is required at Heritage Park. We offer up to 90 minutes of free parking. The Park Plus zone number is 8320.  Learn More About Parking Here

  • Annual Members and Heritage Club Members

    Annual Members and Heritage Club Members get free admission to Railway Days. When you arrive, show your membership card to our gate staff for free entry.
