Canada Day Parade

Come and see the biggest little parade in Calgary this Canada Day! Enjoy marching bands, musical performances, trick roping, wagons, vintage cars, costumed reenactors and much more. The parade does two loops of the village centre, beginning and ending behind the Canmore Opera House.

Steele Scouts Cavalry Display

Don’t miss the Steel Scouts Cavalry Display on the Celebration Field—an exciting equestrian spectacle in commemoration of the history of Sam Steele, featuring precision drills and powerful pageantry.

Citizenship Ceremony

Heritage Park is honoured to host a private Citizenship Ceremony, welcoming new Canadians as they officially join our nation. While this ceremony is not open to the public, Heritage Park is proud to be part of this meaningful milestone in their journey.

Indigenous Drumming and Dancing with Alex and Lori Scalplock

Fraser Highlanders

Reenactment Display – History Through the Ages

Various reenactment groups provide a display of Canadian history through the ages as a “teaser” for Days of Yore.

Rhythm of the Rockies Choir Performance

Rhythm of the Rockies takes harmony to the next level. We deliver fresh and exciting versions of your favourites – like jazz, top 40 hits, Broadway classics, heartfelt love songs and finely tuned barbershop numbers.

Dixie Kings and Magnolia Buckskin

Catch Dixie Kings, a band performing early 20th century period music, and Magnolia Buckskin, an all-female acoustic trio playing popular standards and original blue grass/folk tunes, playing throughout the Village!

• Location: Roving around the Village, playing at the Wainwright Hotel, Shepard Station, Midnapore Station and aboard the S.S. Moyie.

Nifty Fifty’s Ford Club & Stampede City Model A Ford Club Display

See vintage Ford vehicles up close with the Nifty Fifty’s Ford Club—classic cars with plenty of chrome, style and history under the hood.

Calgary Police Service Pipe Band Performance

Catch the CPS Pipe Band at Heritage Park as they join the Canada Day parade and perform at the Engineered Air Bandstand in Heritage Plaza. With their bold bagpipes and drums, it’s a fun way to experience this proud tradition up close.

Jing Wo Cultural Association Performance

A vibrant performance with drumming and traditional dragon and/or lion dancing.

Music in the Plaza: Misery Mountain Boys

This is one of Calgary’s most popular free concert series, featuring local Alberta artists. Come enjoy an evening enjoying live music in the Heritage Plaza – enjoy dinner at the Selkirk, shop the Mercantile Block, or grab a coffee at the Railway Cafe.

You might hear the tunes of the Misery Mountain Boys drifting from behind a rotating bookcase of a 1930’s speakeasy. Harkening back to a simpler time, the MMB’s create a soundscape infused with tongue in cheek wit, playfulness, and nostalgia. The band’s performance is both classic and fresh, offering a generous variety of jazz numbers, velvety love songs, and swinging jump-blues.
